ROBERT D. KARRICK

Robert is a baby boomer who was born and raised in the Bluegrass State. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he went to barber college and later to Bible college. Robert worked many years as both a barber and a minister. Currently, he enjoys retirement which affords him more time to spend with his grandchildren and on writing for children. Robert and his wife of forty-seven years, Helen, have three children and four grandchildren. They live in south-central Kentucky.

Robert enjoys writing for children because it is creative, challenging, and just plain fun. He was first inspired to write for children as he observed his grandchildren enjoying their favorite childhood games. Robert continues to write and illustrate his stories with two goals in mind: to entertain and to stir the imaginations of his readers.

Robert is an active member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (Midsouth Region), and he has studied writing and publishing children's books through Highlights Foundation Workshops. LinkedIn, SCBWI, and Goodreads are a few of Robert's favorite online communities.

"Writing for the simple pleasure of bringing a smile to your face."
